Description

The Esmeraldas thermoelectric power plant is in northwestern Ecuador, in the province of Esmeraldas, and is the country’s third-largest thermoelectric generator. ASTEC, in association with consulting firms Kennedy & Donkin, ICA, and INELIN, took part in designs and supervision of the construction, materials and equipment supply, and erection of the power plant.

The civil works included: Powerhouse, boiler, electrical building, smokestack, cooling tower, storage tanks, intake, smaller buildings, and substations for distribution.
